Privacy
This site uses no cookies, no ads and no trackers. Here is everything it collects, why, and how long it keeps it.
Visits
I count visits to see which pages people read and where they come from. A visitor is counted by a code made from the day, the IP address and the browser. The code changes every day and is deleted after two days, so no one can be followed from one day to the next.
What I keep are daily totals: the pages viewed, where visits came from (a search engine, a social site, another site, a link’s campaign tags, or directly), the type of device, and the country, city and network (such as Jio or Airtel) the connection comes from, as Cloudflare reports them. The IP address itself is never kept.
Visits by programs, such as search engines’ crawlers and the link checkers in mail apps, are counted apart from people’s, and so are my own.
Personal links
Sometimes I send someone a link made just for them: arvindtogra.com/p/ and a short code. When it’s opened, the code is counted with the visit, so I can see the day it was opened. Who I sent each code to is written only in my encrypted workspace. If you’d rather it weren’t counted, type arvindtogra.com instead.
Votes
The thumbs up and down at the top count one vote a day per visitor, kept only as a total.
Suggestions
A suggestion, a voice note, and the name or email you add are encrypted as they arrive, and only I can read them. They stay until I delete them.
Booking a meeting
Your name, email, company, what you’d like to discuss, the time and the video call you choose go into an event in my Google Calendar, with you as a guest, and Google emails you the invitation. If you choose Zoom, Zoom creates the meeting with your name, company and topic.
The booking page keeps none of this itself. To stop misuse, it keeps only a scrambled record of the past day’s bookings, with no names or addresses.
On your device
Your browser remembers a few choices for this site: your currency, whether the music is on, your time zone on the booking page, and your vote. On my own devices it also remembers that they’re mine, so my visits are counted as mine. They stay on the device.
Who else handles it
Cloudflare hosts the site and handles the connection data, such as IP addresses, needed to deliver it. Google handles booked meetings, and Zoom does when you choose it. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
